The library has always been known as a sanctuary for books. Libraries keep records of many things under the sun, and one of the most notable libraries in the world is the Milwaukee Public Library. The library is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The whole Milwaukee Public Library is made up of its central branch, and has 12 branches, in different parts of Wisconsin.

The Library is very old, and its lineage can be traced as far back as 1847, started by the Young Men's Association. Many great minds have given lectures here, like Horace Greeley, Ralph Waldo Emerson, etc.

The Children's Section in the Milwaukee Public Library has one of the largest collections of children's books, some books dating as far back as 1850! So, I you are planning to spend some quality time with your kids on Sunday afternoon, then the Library is the ideal place for you. There are listening stations, and screenings of plays and films are held, in the McBeath Theater.

If you want more, and want that your kids to not just learn, but also have loads of fun, then the Art, Music and Recreation Department will do the trick for you. There are hundreds of books on art, dance, music, etc. in the library, and will keep your kids entertained for hours on end.

There is also a big collection of books on toys, comics, coins, dolls, and other collectibles. This means that your child will get to study all these things in details, thanks to the large variety of books available in the Library.

Consisting of a Central library and 12 other branches, the Milwaukee Public Library (MPL) is a public library system and the largest in Wisconsin. The Central library is the headquarters of the MPL. It stands out to be a mammoth historic monument. French and Italian style, the mosaic tiles and Teserra- a colored marble threw a grand look to the building. The interiors are designed using yellow Sienna marble, oak and mahogany wood.

The Periodicals department assists visitors with finding consumer information, stock prices, lottery results and other related stuff. All the other departments like the Humanities and Business and Technology arrange books from diverse fields including history, literature, Science and technology et al.
