Milwaukee County Transit system is the largest transit agency in the Wisconsin state. The Milwaukee County Transit System was founded on June 1, 1975. The county transit system ranks among the top 50 transit agencies serving in United States.

The Milwaukee County Transit System grew gradually from the two man horse carriages to the diesel buses. The head quarters of the Milwaukee County Transit system is located at: 1942, North 17th street, Milwaukee, WI.

The County transit has 416 new flyer low floor buses. Among the 416 buses 387 are 40 feet and remaining 29 buses are 30 feet. The MCTS operates over 50 bus routes which cover most part of the Milwaukee County. The bus routes include major parts of Waukesha County and Ozaukee County.

In special occasions and festival seasons the MCTS operates special routes to the venues. The Milwaukee County transit System is a partner of Southwest Wisconsin Transit System. The MCTS offers bus passes and discount fares for the passengers.

The passengers should show the ID card for availing the discount fare and passes. MCTS also offers an unlimited use bus pass which saves 65% of your money on the commuting cost of MCTS. The unlimited use bus pass can be available only through the MCTS employers.

The weekly pass fare of MCTS is $17.50. The passengers can ride from 5.00am Sunday to 5am of the following Sunday. The monthly pass costs around $64.00 in which the passenger can ride for the whole month. The bus passes of the MCTS are available in nearly 300 outlets in retail stores located throughout the Milwaukee County.

You also have the option of walking around and checking the new kind of architecture in the station since it has recently been renovated. The Station building also has remains if the old style architecture which makes for a great sight-seeing of historical value.

Since this is an intermodal station it also has bus services from here. You can go through the buses lined outside and have a look at visitors in and around this area. Going through random strangers can also be fun at times.
