The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee was established in 1956 and it is one of the public research Universities of America. It was created because of a belief that only a great public university is lacking to make Milwaukee a great city.

The University is located at the Upper East Side near the Lake Michigan. The University has 14 schools and 70 academic centers. And they offer a total of 155 degree programs with 87 bachelors, 51 masters and 28 doctorate degrees.
There are 120 undergraduate majors and sub-majors.

Besides the good education the University is also known for their athletic team called the Panthers. They are currently contains 1,349 faculty members and 29,338 students. And in 1997 the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee was ranked number 72nd among public universities in the United States.
