Milwaukee City Hall

Milwaukee City Hall is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was established in 1895. It is considered to be the second tallest building of Milwaukee after the US Bank Center. Architect Henry Koch, designed this City Hall in the Flemish Renaissance style.

Travel in Milwaukee will not be complete for history lovers without a visit to the Milwaukee City Hall. It has an office space of 107,270 square feet and there is an open well at the center, which measures 20 by 70 feet. It is interesting to view the bell tower and its balcony which rises 320 feet above the sidewalk. The flagpole that is above the bell tower stands tall at 393 feet above sea level.

A fire in 1929 damaged the ball tower, but it has been repaired taking the help of the original blueprints of the architect. The entire City Hall building was renovated by 2008. Prior to the restoration, the bell was rung rarely due to seismic concerns, but now there is an assembly of scaffolds with protective coverings adjusted around the building for the protection of pedestrians from brickwork and falling stone. The City Hall is now considered to be a national historic landmark.
