Milwaukee County Stadium: Unsurpassed Performance for Baseball Fans

Milwaukee County Stadium located in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a well known baseball stadium. But it is also used for games like football, ice skating etc and other events like religious services and concerts. The County Stadium is now a home to the Milwaukee Brewers of the minor league American Association. The stadium had several locations across the city before and now it covers an area of 107,000 sq. ft.

The Left field of the Milwaukee County Stadium is bordered by the Menomonee River while the Southern entrance faces the 44th Street which was later known as US-41 Stadium Freeway. Much before, the primary seating volume of Milwaukee County Stadium was 28,111 permanent seats while 7,900 were portable seats.

Since then, a number of additional improvements were performed to the scoreboards, bleachers, press box, and outfield for few consecutive years. In the year 1975, the authority increased the seating capacity bringing the overall capacity of the seats to 53,192.

There are very interesting facts to state about Milwaukee County Stadium. In the years between 1953 and 1957, the ballpark broke the record by getting its space occupied by more than 2 million attendees for league matches. The site of today's Milwaukee County Stadium stands on the former Story Quarry.

In the years between 1953 and 1973, much before the park was long-drawn-out, the County Stadium overlooked the National Soldiers Home V.A. Hospital and the patients of the hospital could watch the game free of cost by just sitting outside their rooms.

The present enclosed area, presently the picnic area is called the Braves Reservation. It was inaugurated in the year1961.

In 1968 alone the famous Chicago White Sox played more than nine games while in 1969 they played 11 games in this stadium.
